It's Called Avoiding Responsibility

Since my house is a total wreck and my laundry is out of control I decided to just scrapbook instead. I did similar layouts for 2009 and I have been wanting to do some for 2010. This year I decided to use only cell phone photos as they seem to capture the day to day things in life because that is the camera I always have with me.
Yin template (of course).

De-Orangified!

Is that even a word? Haha!

I just couldn't stand that really busy, really orange version of this layout. So I redid it and simplified it immensely. Much happier :)

New Challenge

Ok, so it's my turn to post a challenge and I was thinking that I'd really like to learn a new technique. I came across this challenge at Scrap Matters. I've always wanted to know how to do this. So give it a try and I will too.

And if this technique stinks, then just scrap a Valentine's Day page. I always like to have a back-up plan, lol.
***With this challenge if you just extract a photo w/o doing a LO that is cool too. Just upload and share that with all of us. I've been trying to do this and it's harder than it looks, at least for me :)

Chalk Art

Loved this challenge. I so want to get a working scanner now so I can preserve more of the kid's cute letters and pictures.

I heart Rainbows!

I'm back! It was surprisingly rewarding to finally get a page done. I used the Sugar Shack blog train kit from forever ago and a random template.

According to my kindergartner...

This was tricky for a lot of reasons! My scans didn't fit in my template holes very well, so I ended up just using a blank file and going from there. Secondly, I had a hard time keeping my background simple and NOT decorating a ton, in order to not compete with my letters. Third, I had WAY more pieces that I would've loved to include, but I might have to just do another LO one day with pictures instead of letters.

I also couldn't decide on a color theme or a kit that I liked. :( So I guess here it is. Plain, but I just didn't know how else to do it! I really can't wait/hope to see what you guys do! I need to steal some of your ideas and improve my LO.

New Challenge

I'm always looking for ways to preserve my kids artwork and sketches. I've had a few ideas, but haven't decided on a good system yet. So, my challenge is to complete a scrapbook page that incorporates your kids artwork or little sketches. You can scan it in or take a picture of it or take a picture of your kid showing it off. Whatever works for you! Here are a few cute ideas. I love the self portrait! If this turns out cute, I just might scan and get rid of a huge pileup of papers.

Tiny Dancer

Here's my Connie Prince Topsy Turvy Template Challenge. I'm getting to that point where my back hurts too much to sit at the computer for very long, dang it!! But maybe that's good - it forces me to just go with it and do it, instead of spending too much time picking at it.

Orange You Glad I Did the Challenge?

My layout for the "Topsy Turvey Template Challenge". I guess I got a little bit carried away with the orange. Ick, sorry! I was inspired by Leslie's cute donut page :)

All papers and elements are by Britt except for the teeny cupcake which is Summer Driggs.

Topsy Turvy Template Challenge

Ok, I'm racking my brain trying to think of something we can do for this next challenge. Last time we did Connie Prince's Topsy Turvy Template challenge, we had 100% participation, so I'm assuming you guys liked that. So here is her template challenge for February. It's a REALLY simple template - I'm sure it will need some tweeking to get cute, but I know that you guys will get it there!

Rules are posted next to the link. Keep all elements, and add or resize as needed.

Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Project 12

Well, once I posted the challenge, I started on my page! It's too cold today to do anything else, so what a great excuse to scrap.

Template: The Digi Files

Kit: Elemental Scraps - A week in the life

Project 12??

We've all heard and seen a lot about Project 365, where you scrapbook your week with 1 picture for each day during the week. I think that is NUTS! I have no idea how people can keep up with that!! So overwhelming.

But, I have thought a lot about simplifying that concept into "Project 12." My version would be to scrapbook a page for each month. For example, my January would have a picture of my tennis team practice, Haley's field trip, and a picture of us in LAX on New Year's Day. I would propose as many or as few photos as you want, with plenty of journaling to summarize what happened in your lives that month.

*My challenge for this week is just that - let's start "Project 12" and scrap January.

Carson is 4!

I feel a little bit pretentious scrapping pictures of Carson's 4th birthday on his actual 4th birthday. Can you believe my baby is 4 because I can't!?!
